Prime Day and Target Deal Day Haul. The Does Anyone Ever Have An Actual Plan For This Day Edition

I cannot be the only one, right?! Do any of you have actual plan for what you want to get on Prime Day? I feel that I spend a good part of my day stalking all the Instagram stories, watching what everyone’s favorites are, what they are scooping up and then I proceed to go down a blackhole of buying a bunch of madness with no rhyme or reason.

This also brings me to needing to know immediately what you got!?

I did do some damage for Target Deal Day (bought a bunch of Christmas gifts for the kiddos which I am keeping in the sealed boxes since the suitcase we normally use to hide the gifts in is currently being used for our trip).

Sidenote: have you been to a Target toy section lately?! The deals are INCREDIBLE so if you are in need of some Christmas gifts, now is the time to do this, do not sleep on it as I wish I knew earlier how good these deals were as I would have stalked the aisles days ago. If you have more than one near you, I would go to the different ones as some of my Targets had different things on sale and the prices varied.

Anywhoooo…I also bought a ton of new t-shirts and shorts for Sean. Anyone that knows him knows that it is his uniform of choice and you can never have too many of these items for him. The Goodfellow shorts were $6-8 and the t-shirts were $3. Even on their 30% off days, the prices do not get this low, so I believe I got anywhere between 16-18 pieces of clothes for Sean for around $70. It was an incredible deal, couldn’t be passed up and I am too exhausted to show everything, but it is the basic of the basic, so I am not sure if you are missing anything anyway. Basically look up Goodfellow on the Target site and know that I got multiples of everything.

Okay, I lied, when I asked Sean what we needed from Prime Day, he did immediately mention that we needed a new backyard inflatable pool and we got a really good deal at $75 for THIS one , but there were a lot of good choices and a lot of good deals.

I did get some really good things for our trip, things that I had no idea I needed for the house and a bunch of other things that made perfect sense at the time but definitely raised Sean’s eyebrow when I excitedly showed him. What else is new?! Anyone else trying to justify clear plastic covers for their suitcases so they do not get scratched…just me?!

If you already were not aware, I love buying things for travel. I love all the suitcases, travel bags, miniature items for toiletries, makeup, hair, etc. Give. Me. All. The. Travel.

With that being said, I am a sucker for packing cubes, like the amount of excitement I feel when using packing cubes should really be questioned. During Prime Day, I bought a second set of THESE compression packing cubes as well as THESE plastic compression bags which instead of being vaccuumed sealed, they work more like a ziploc bag (see below), so I am interested to see how these work as I only own the vaccuum ones that go under the bed. If you are on the fence about compression packing cubes and whether or not you really need them, I would consider them for shorter trips or trips where you are just using a carry-on and want to maximize space. For trips where you are going for an extended amount of time (longer than a week) or need a variety of outfits including potential dressier options I find that THESE packing cubes are the best (I actually own two sets). They still give you plenty of space in your suitcase and your clothes will remain the way you packed them when you arrive at your destination (I use the rolling method). I tried to use the compression packing cubes for my cruise suitcase and due to the amount of clothes I was packing, it just crammed everything together and it was not fitting the way I wanted it too in the suitcase itself. For this particular upcoming trip (at least for my bag), I felt the packing cubes were a better choice.

I did however use the compression ones for the kids (they are significantly smaller than my packing cubes) and kept some of them as storage cubes (did not use the compression closure) and some I compressed (pants, pajamas, etc).

Another item that we got from our trip was THIS luggage weight. My luggage felt excessively heavy and I thought it was a good idea to have something to weigh our luggage prior as I felt I wanted to prepare. It currently sits at 49.2lbs give or take and the only thing missing is my makeup bag which is fairly light since everything is travel size (update: not as light as I thought), but I am praying to all of the luggage gods that this stays within this weight. The reviews state the ‘scale’ is pretty accurate, so I guess we will see.

Also, for the trip I bought both of THESE Disney and Marvel Eye Found It travel card games. There is no one that loves look and finds more than my kids and I thought these would be perfect for the plane. Along with the other 1,000 things that I packed in their travel bag.

Each kid has their own Mickey “fun on the plane” kit that is full of all new stuff for the that will hopefully keep them entertained as long as humanly possible (including new headphones that are cat ears and light up SIMILAR but I got ours at Five Below). The Baby Yoda bag (still not Grogu) has things we can do together like flash cards, the eyefound it games, magnetic travel tiles, etc. EV doesn’t really have a specific ‘lovie’, but she does love traveling with the above Anna for some reason (she picked it out on our last Disney cruise) and no matter the trip, she comes with us (Anna…not Ellie…although Ellie comes with us too obviously). Both the kids bags and the Baby Yoda were purchased at our Primark so I cannot link them and the suitcase is of course Vera Bradley.

Anywho before I digress and talk at length about this bag and how this bag came to be, everything will be in another blog along with the usual switching of bags, so back to our regularly scheduled Prime Day program.

THESE travel locks and a set of Air Tags (not linked) were also purchased. As of late, all I seem to be hearing/reading about are luggage horror stories and I have to say, freaked out is an understatement. Mainly because we only have one day in Copenhagen before we board the Disney Cruise, so anything that will keep our luggage safe and accessible, I am on board with (play on words with ‘on board’ not intended…or was it).

Lastly, I am a sucker for organizers of any kind for my bag as I have a tendency to throw everything in. I have been using a mini Vera Bradley backpack for a while which although has a lot of pockets, I still tend to throw everything into the main one which means that everything ultimately sits on the bottom and I have to fish around for what I am looking for (even though I have a few Vera cases in them for separation of items like makeup and such). Enter THIS amazing backpack organizer. I love that it comes in both small and large and as you can see, the small is the perfect size for my backpack,. The large would be perfect for a traditional backpack (16″ or 20″) and I am thinking of grabbing one for the one we use in Disney.

As you can see, tons of compartments for everything you could imagine

I love that you can just take the whole thing out of your bag and put it into another. If you are a Loungefly collector, this would be perfect for you…and me, since I am this person too.

I have been talking for months about cleaning the baseboards in our house with a magic eraser, which in turn meant that I needed THIS Base Buddy to go with it. Did I see someone in their Instagram Stories use a Swiffer to put a dryer sheet on and it serve a similar purpose, yes. Did I feel the need to buy an actual product because it was Prime Day and I was influenced…also, yes. Do not and by any means DO NOT follow juliana_claire on Instagram. She will have you buying everything on Amazon. I have never followed someone where every single story they post, I need everything that they are demonstrating. It is like ‘As Seen On TV” but sooooo much better and obviously by do not follow, I mean follow immediately and you can regret your life choices later. Her recommendations are the absolute best, she shows the coolest stuff that you never knew you needed, but feel like your life is better now that you have it, and obviously, I do not regret my Base Buddy purchase one bit.

In jumping on the cleaning train, we also got THIS heavy duty upholstery and sofa cleaner. Our sofa is due to be replaced, but with still having two small toddlers, we are holding out as long as we can. We have a cordurouy type material sofa and unfortunately, we did not think ahead and buy a sofa with covers that can be cleaned. So we just spot clean them. We needed something that could do a deep scrub especially with us all having been sick and I have to say that this cleaner was amazing, cleaned everything, and didn’t leave behind a cleaner smell that I was afraid of the kids to lay on.

The last of the ‘cleaning items’ (I think) was THIS screen cleaner. Of course this item was one of those things that is more of a ‘hey, its on sale, why not!?” item, but I absolutely love it. Plus, it comes in a fairly large spray bottle so I feel it will take FOREVER to get through. It cleans all the sticky finger marks that reside on all the kiddos electronics, and it cleaned the tv screens and laptop/desktop screens brilliantly. I love that it came with its own microfiber cloth and I have been wanting to really clean all of our screens well for quite some time (I have been using an eyeglass travel cleaner that I keep in my purse ::cue facepalm emoji::) so Prime Day if any day was perfect for this.

What other randomness that has no rhyme or reason did we get did you ask?!

EV is obsessed with crustables. For some odd reason she calls the peanut butter and jelly ones, jelly and cheeese (I have no idea how this happened, but it is too cute and slightly disgusting to correct). EV can go through anywhere between two to three of these a day. During Prime Day THIS create your own crustable creater was on sale so I snagged one. I like all the different varieties of sandwiches that you can do with it as well. I have yet to try it as we still have a box or two of crustables to go through, but the reviews looked excellent and I am super excited as it looks fairly easy (famous last words I know).

HTV (heat transfer vinyl for my Cricut for those that don’t know) is always purchased on Prime Day and pretty much any day that it is on a deep sale, so this goes without saying as something that will be bought every Prime Day.

I have seen THIS ‘hair noodle’ all over Instagram and thought it was absolutely ridiculous. It then went down to $7 for Prime Day whereupon FOMO kicked in and the desire to need one immediately and now this ridiculous contraption is in my possession and I do not regret it one bit. Yes, it does take some finagling, I highly suggest watching more than one tutorial, but I actually think it is a lot of fun. Yes, it actually works and yes, it is comfortable enough to sleep in…kinda. Don’t ask about this purchase, I just do what the the Prime Day gods and the people I follow on Instagram tell me to do…I have no self control when it comes to these things whatsoever.

The very last thing I ordered was THIS Lost Boys shirt for Sean for Disney (just try and imagine his excitement of a family themed shirt, I will wait as the image emerges). There are some magical things that we are creating that are coming down the pipeline, so I needed something for Sean that he could wear with the Commodore. Sean likes understated shirts that are not in your face and themed out andsince I need to have family shirts to take pictures with the items we are launching, it was a kill two birds with one stone (anyone know of a kinder way to say this) kind of Prime Day moment.

I almost love not having a plan on Prime Day, or at the very least only having an item or two on my list as it makes all the other randomness super fun to recieve. All those packages that arrive at your door and wondering what is going to show up next…is this just me that feels this rush?! Plus, who doesn’t love watching the haul of everyone else and what they got? I am absolutely a voyeur of shopping hauls and following the hashtags (primeday, target, lillypulitzer are a few faves). Because lets be honest, more than half of this would never have found there way into our house if I wasn’t influenced by another influencer.
