I love Summer! I love Summer colors and pineapples and flamingos, I love bright colors and neon and all the summer vibe ;). I love water activities and swim suits and everything that Summer brings, but the minute Target begins that slow release of pumpkin season which seems to start earlier and earlier every year, all my basic girl synapses click into overdrive and I begin scouring the shelves for pumpkin spice everything. Who’s with me?!
Due to an extreme three week family illness, I took a major hiatus from anything social media related and just took the time to getting our family back to tip top shape, but boy finding the momentum to write this and not talk myself into a nice nap is something else.
What did the hiatus allow for me to do besides binge watch every Korean drama I could want on Netflix? Stalk all the Halloween and Fall goodness that is starting to hit the shelves and online. I have talked before about the Instagram account catandjackbytarget, but I stand by as it being one of the greatest Target accounts on the Gram’ (especially if you have littles). She does an excellent job of putting everything out ASAP so you have a good chance of getting what you want before it sells out or at least the ability get the notifications on early. I am in complete agreement that those notifications can be a bigger pain than what they are worth as there is nothing more frustrating with the Target experience then having something in your cart and having it repeatedly taken out. I know this is with a lot of websites like ShopDisney, Loungefly, etc., but these are plastic plates and wall hangings for goodness sakes.
Dear Bluey backpack, here is looking at you and waiting for your in-stock notification to return.
Of course with the Target Halloween release that normally means that Homegoods is right there as well. Did this also mean that I may have taken a swing over to Homegoods, scour their goodies and pick up a few extra things yes, yes it did. I had sworn off Rae Dunn this year as I have enough and honestly I am kind of over it. Ummm…until I found these…
The poison apple one is actually a Disney Villains Rae Dunn and has the image of Snow White’s Evil Queen on the back.
Obviously when I found these, I rescinded the promise to myself, made the purchase and put the swearing off promptly back into place one purchased…unless I find the Unfortunate Souls one and then all bets are off…and then on again.
I bought a couple of these Mickey pumpkin tealight holders and am still on the hunt for the Minnie ones. I think they were around $14.99 each as there was a woman next to me mentioning that when she bought these in Disney years ago, they were the same price. I. Love. Them.
These bowls came in a set of 2, so I bought the Minnie (purple and black) for EV and the Mickey (orange and black) for the Commodore. The Commodore loves anything that he can dip and I thought these were perfect and deep enough where a huge mess would not occur, plus they are plastic.
The Mickey Halloween tray was my favorite for $12.99. It is ceramic, so be careful where to place it around little fingers, but every Halloween I do a skull pumpkin waffle charcuterie board for the kids for dinner while we do Halloween movies and I thought this would be super cute to serve them on…and then immediately transfer everything to their dishes and put the tray away ;). At least the presentation will be perfect.
I love these hallow Halloween decorative boxes. I bought two that I adore from Target years back during their Halloween launch, but because they are paper, the wear and tear (literally) is starting to happen and these are a little more heavy duty and will last longer. I use these to store remotes. The TV in our living room somehow as three or four attached so I like storing them in something like this. As you should already know, I am a sucker for all things storage and organization. I bought both the large and small (below) for the living room and the kids room.
As you can see it is pretty deep on the inside (the small is nested in the large for now). The girl at the register was saying that her hubby uses them for controllers or more adult video games so the kids can’t mess around and I thought it was genius.
I was even was able to get some early things for their Boo Baskets this year (Halloween hooded towels of a cat and witch and Mickey and Minnie Halloween toddler plate sets that come with a plate, bowl, and fork). Are you now asking yourself what a Boo Basket is?! You are missing out, but check out what we do HERE.
I scooped up some Halloween jammies for the kiddos because nothing tends to give me as much joy as family holiday jammies. Holiday jammies no matter the holiday, tend to be the first things that sell out when they are released on Target.
Baby Yoda (I bought both EV and the Commodore’s size), Mickey and Friends, Minnie Witch, and Minnie Cute and Spooky. They also came out with THESE Bluey that I got for both kiddos too that we are saving for the cruise as well as THIS new Frozen Elsa nightgown (our ship is Frozen themed so it is perfect and the pictures online do not do it justice).
They released the BINGO coverall about a year ago and they finally launched the BLUEY and I scooped it up for EV and as you can see, they were quite a hit! I love that for a full coverall that it is a really light cotton material so it is perfect for Florida weather.
I also got EV a couple of Halloween Cat & Jack dresses. Again these tend to sell out really quickly along with a really cute pair of paperbag pants, high-rise cordurouy ones (who doesn’t love paperbag pants…or shorts for that matter and they are so darn cute on EV), and a cordurouy leopard skirt, because well….do you even have to ask? I love that the skirt has the pull tabs on the inside as in true Cat & Jack fashion, it runs fairly big as these help make it smaller. I don’t know what is going on in our Target, but it is an absolute disaster and impossible to find anything since everything is all over the floor. With that being said, I have been accustomed to scanning what I can and ordering for shipping while I am there. I would much rather receive it quasi-nicely (the boxes are always in shambles, but the item in one piece thank goodness) then to spend an over-abundant amount of time sifting through a pile on the floor or checking every single shelf behind things, because nothing has been put back right and it is just shoved in somewhere.
Moon Dress w/ Pockets (nuf said)
Cream Halloween Dress and High- Rise Burnt Orange Cordurouy Flared Pants.
Paperbag Jeans and I bought the tights for cool nights on the ship with EV’s dresses (I purchased three pairs in black and a pair in navy).
You know who made fun of all the influencers wearing belt bags/fanny packs as crossbodies? This girl. You know which girl flipped the script and now appreciates wearing a belt bag like this especially in Disney?! Your girl right here. It is the most ridiculous, yet realistic piece of fashion I have ever embraced. Right there with my hair noodle (IYKYK). I didn’t really want to spend a lot of money on one since I wasn’t sure how long my love affair would last and I was looking for a solid-colored one (surprisingly I have a couple but they are all Disney themed) and I was kind of on the fence regarding the basic girl LuLuLemon one (bandwagon jumping for the sake of fashion I try to avoid), so I opted for THIS one from Target. Normal Dana would have gotten the black, but I wanted a fun color and I have to say that the bright hot pink color was pretty spot on for what was shown on the site. It is the Wild Fable line, so it is a good price at $15 and I felt that the quality is decent too.
I feel for what I saw with the LuLuLemon, it is an adequate dupe and easy to return at Target if I didn’t like it. I also bought THIS dome backpack (also fits THIS organizer) since I love the mint green color. Again, Wild Fable, good quality and size, I loved the straps and loved even more that it was nylon and felt that I could add some of my StoneyCloverXTarget patches to it and it would look super cute. I still have a bunch and have been dying to acquire a new bag that the patches would adhese too easily and still look good.
Sooooo many pockets…Soooooo much space ::swoon::
What do I love more than a good belt/crossbody bag? A sling bag! I have become obsessed with these for Disney as it fits a good amount of stuff without weighing me down. I like how it distributes weight across my chest and it is easy access for things like my phone, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. I love the Vera Bradley ones, but wanted one a little more understated for Europe, so I purchased THIS one from the PRIDE line at Target and I love it. It is the perfect size and again fits comfortably and distributes everything well so it doesn’t feel like anything more than a crossbody purse. When traveling to Europe, I wanted something that held my wallet and anything else important close to me since there will be a lot of things going on all while managing the kids and I didn’t want to have to worry about my purse and what was in it too.
The Ahoska Tano clip came from one of those mystery bags on Hot Topic or something of the like. If you haven’t learned this already, I am a 100% a sucker for a bag.
Target during this time was doing a buy one get one free with clothing, accesories, etc (right before Target Deal Day), so I added THESE high-waisted shorts (as seen above) in the olive color (I am a sucker for anything olive) which ended up being free…or the belt bag was…one or the other. The shorts are more of an olive mixed with mustard color, they are absolutely adorable on and fit true to size (unlike the New Day line which is a fitting disaster). Plus, they are a great color for Fall and with them being shorts, they are perfect to incorporate into Fall looks, while making it Florida humid appropriate.
What would be a Target Halloween haul without the random of the random? Although truth be told, this is already kind of random without the next bit.
I had lusted over THIS gold skeleton since last year, never took the plunge and then it sold out and never returned. So here we are….with no regrets…
and because I am a sucker for anything Halloween that lights up, I bought THIS spooky marquee. I also have the boo one from last year that I use on the kids Halloween play kitchen and I love both. It is a great deal for $15.
Lastly, during the Target deal day, Men’s Graphic Shirts were on sale for $6 and because getting Sean to theme anything while in Disney is nearly impossible (matching family shirts unless for profesh pictures is out of the question), I was able to score two Disney Halloween ones that he felt good about (Villains and Jack) and the price was too good to pass up since we are doing Mickey’s Not So Scary this year and our entiire stay tends to be Disney Halloween themed. I am really loving the Villains one. Even for the regular price of $12.99, I think it is a great deal for the quality and all the fun villains on it.
Because of the Target toy sale, they are cleaning up so many shelves and starting to bring in all the new stuff and I may have went a little hog wild with the new Bluey, Alice’s Wonderland Bakery and Santiago of the Seas merch. I got everything home and went into immediate hiding mode because no one smells out new Target items more than my kiddos. Interesting fact, I am not a 100% that our store was supposed to put these out yet because although they are saved as my in-store orders because I used Cartwheel and plugged in my number at the register, none of the products are available on the website.
